Val Landwehr

Val Landwehr has education and experience in both entomology and computer science. He has a master's and doctoral degree in entomology from the University of California, Berkeley and a master's degree in computer science from the University of Minnesota. Over the last 20 years Dr. Landwehr has worked for various companies in the field of computer vision. Dr. Landwehr has produced software to detect and recognize objects with the use of video cameras as well as with infrared, radar and acoustic sensors. He has also done research on the ecology and control of a number of mites and insect pests.

Fernando Agudelo-Silva

Dr. Agudelo has a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, did postdoctoral work at the Harvard School of Public Health and has substantial experience in academia and business. He is currently an instructor at the College of Marin in California, where he teaches a wide variety of biology and environmental science classes. Dr. Agudelo has done extensive research nationally and internationally in insect pathogens, agricultural entomology and public health. He has also held senior positions in agricultural biotechnology firms.

Drs. Landwehr and Agudelo-Silva are using their knowledge of computer vision, entomology, microbiology and environmental science to enable others to benefit from the use of electronics and computers in a wide variety of biological applications in academic and commerical settings.
